Kylian Mbappe delivers unfortunate news for Man City ahead of the Champions League showdown.

Kylian Mbappe's return to training brings significant hope to Real Madrid, while also causing Manchester City to be cautious ahead of the upcoming Champions League clash.

Real Madrid has just received a major morale boost before the showdown with Manchester City in the Champions League, as Kylian Mbappe has returned to training, though his availability for the first leg remains uncertain.

According to multiple sources from Spain, the French forward has appeared at the Valdebebas training ground after a period of treating a knee injury in Paris. Mbappe's return is seen as a positive signal for Real Madrid as they prepare for the highly tense Champions League quarter-final against Manchester City.

However, Mbappe has not yet been able to fully participate in training with the entire team. Instead, he only performed continuous running exercises under the supervision of fitness coach Sebastien Devillaz to ensure the recovery process follows the correct schedule. According to Tribuna, the likelihood of the 1998-born striker appearing in the first leg this midweek remains very low, as Real Madrid wants to avoid any risks that could cause the injury to recur.

While Mbappe is gradually returning, Real Madrid has received additional unfortunate news regarding their defense. Defender Alvaro Carreras has been confirmed to have suffered a calf muscle injury following the latest medical examinations. Given the current situation, it is almost certain that this player will be absent from the match against Man City.

However, the Spanish Royal club has also received other positive signals. Center-back Antonio Rudiger has returned to full training and is likely to feature in the starting lineup for the match against Man City. Additionally, Eduardo Camavinga has overcome a prolonged dental infection issue to rejoin the main training group, thereby ready to compete for a position in midfield or as a left defensive wing.

Nevertheless, Real Madrid currently only has approximately 17 first-team players in suitable condition to play. The club's medical department is closely monitoring Mbappe's recovery process, but the coaching staff maintains a cautious stance. If the French forward is not in near-perfect condition, he will not be risked for the first leg.

This decision shows that Real Madrid prioritizes Mbappe's long-term condition, especially with the second leg and the upcoming World Cup still ahead. In the context of a depleted squad, coach Alvaro Arbeloa will have to carefully strategize to face Manchester City, one of the heavy contenders for the Champions League title this season.
