Bich Thuy is determined to surprise Japan alongside the Vietnamese national team

Midfielder Bich Thuy is determined to help the Vietnamese women's football team surprise Japan in the final match of Group A of the 2026 Asian Cup.

“Not just me personally, but the whole team has strengthened our spirit. We will enter the match with the highest determination and strive to play our best until the final minutes,” Bich Thuy shared.

Regarding the upcoming match, Bich Thuy stated that this game is crucial for the Vietnamese team's chances of advancing.

“Tomorrow's match could determine the Vietnamese women's national team's opportunity to reach the next round. Regardless of the opponent, the whole team always prioritizes determination and unity to perform our best on the field.

After the match with Chinese Taipei, the coaching staff and players held a review meeting and have prepared optimally in terms of fitness and tactics for the next game.”

Meanwhile, Coach Mai Duc Chung said: “We have faced Japan many times and know they always play very seriously in every match. Therefore, the whole team has prepared our strategy to perform our best against this opponent.”

Regarding the intense competition for a quarter-final spot, Coach Mai Duc Chung stated that the coaching staff and players are not paying excessive attention to the results of other matches.

“As we shared earlier, the team does not overly concern itself with other teams' results. The most important thing is that we must strive wholeheartedly, deciding our own fate through a match played with the utmost determination.

This match is a significant challenge for the Vietnamese women's team as we face Japan, a top-level team in Asia and the world. This is the final group stage match, so the whole team will strive with the highest determination, even though we know the opponent is very strong.”
