The crushing 11-0 victory over India helped the Japanese women's team continue to demonstrate their overwhelming strength in Group C of the 2026 Asian Women's Football Championship.
From the very first minutes at HBF Park on the evening of March 7, the East Asian team quickly imposed their dominance. In the 4th minute, Yamamoto opened the scoring with a surprising long-range shot. Just minutes later, she made an impact again by dribbling down the flank before creating an opportunity for Hasegawa to finish, raising the score to 2-0 in the 13th minute.
Japan's superior technique and ball control ability left India almost unable to launch attacks. In the 20th minute, Miyazawa scored the third goal after a well-coordinated midfield combination. By the 35th minute, this forward completed a double by breaking through and finishing near the goal after Tanaka's clever pass.

Entering the second half, the one-sided dominance persisted. In the 47th minute, Ueki scored with a one-touch finish following Hijikata's cross, initiating the subsequent goal rush. Just three minutes later, Ueki herself scored with a dangerous long-range shot, raising the score to 7-0.
India's defense nearly collapsed as they faced consecutive waves of attacks. Seike scored the eighth goal in the 55th minute, before Hijikata headed in to make it 9-0 in the 62nd minute. In the 65th minute, Ueki completed her hat-trick with a close-range header after Hayashi's lofted pass.
Despite leading by a large margin, Japan did not slow down. In the 81st minute, Miyazawa scored her third goal, securing the 11-0 victory for the world champion team.
This result allowed Japan to win both of their first two matches in Group C, scoring 13 goals and conceding none, thus firmly leading with 6 points. Meanwhile, Taiwan (China) and Vietnam both have 3 points after two matches, while India has no points and a very low goal difference.
